Theodor Escherich

Theodor Escherich (November 29, 1857 - February 15, 1911) was an Austrian (born in Ansbach, Mittelfranken, and died in Vienna, Austria) pediatrician and bacteriologist and a professor at universities in Munich, Graz, and Vienna. He discovered Escherichia coli and established its properties.
