The World's Children's Prize is decided by a jury of children from all over the world, each representing a group if the world's children. The Global Friends' Award is decided by children in schools and organizations all over the world that take place in a global vote. In 2004, 1.3 million children voted. The price ceremony takes place in April each year since 2000, but there was no global vote in the first year. Three nominees for the prizes are selected each year.
