The Tigger Movie

The Tigger Movie is a spin-off film from The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh. It shows Winnie the Pooh's friend Tigger going to find his family. This movie was made by The Walt Disney Company in 2000. It was originally slated for video release until Disney CEO Michael Eisner heard the subsequently award winning Sherman Brothers score and decided to reconfigure the film for a full, worldwide theatrical release. The original theatrical trailer for the film featured the song Semi-Charmed Life by alternative band Third Eye Blind. The song is about crystal meth addiction, but was presumably chosen for the trailer because of its bright, catchy sound. Although the portions of the song used in the trailer don't feature the most explicit lyrics (about both drugs and sex), there was still a public outcry about the inappropriateness of its use in the trailer for a children's movie. Once informed of the song's meaning, Disney recalled the original trailer and substituted a different song. Ironically the film's Sherman Brothers' score has had a longer lasting appeal than any of the film's promotional materials would have had supposed.
