The Streets At SouthpointThe Streets at Southpoint is a super-regional shopping mall located in south Durham, NC. This mall boasts the state's first Nordstrom department store. In addition to Nordstrom, the mall accommodates Hudson-Belk, Hecht's, J.C. Penney and Sears. This mall was also NC's first mall to incorporate an outdoor village concept when it opened in 2001, known as main street. The opening of this new mall, however, led to the demise of Durham's older South Square Mall. Once The Streets at Southpoint was built, Belk, Dillard's, and J.C. Penney left South Square Mall. Today, on the site of the former South Square Mall is a Sam's Club and the first SuperTarget in the state. External Links
