The Russians Are Coming, the Russians Are Coming is a 1966 film which tells the story of the comedic chaos which occurs when a Soviet submarine accidentally runs aground near a small New England town. It stars Carl Reiner, Eva Marie Saint, Alan Arkin, Brian Keith, Jonathan Winters, Paul Ford, Theodore Bikel, Tessie O'Shea and John Phillip Law. The movie was adapted by Nathaniel Benchley from the novel by William Rose. It was directed by Norman Jewison. It was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Alan Arkin), Best Film Editing, Best Picture and Best Writing, Screenplay Based on Material from Another Medium.
