The Rat Room

The rat room is the 'meeting room' in the palace of Ankh-Morpork as part of the fictional Discworld novels. It is so named because of its fresco of dancing rats on the ceiling. Occupants report that spending any time in the room makes you want to leave and go have a good long bath. Perhaps the room is a throwback to the time of Maurice and his Educated Rodents when the city was overrun with rats, and the city was desperate to get rid of them, thus reflecting a key Morporkian belief-If you can't bet them, join them.
