The Phoenix is an Irish news and satire magazine, inspired by the British magazine Private Eye. The magazine is published forthnightly, and edited under the pseudonym "Goldhawk", a charcter who appears in radio adverts for the magazine. Features in the magzine include the news (though it tends towards gossip) column, profiles ("Pillars of Society" and "The Young Bloods"), a satarical section ("The Funnies", which includes a regular satire of Bertie Ahern entitled "Da Diary of a Nortsoide Taoiseach"), and a financial column, "Moneybags".
