The Moonies are a British band somewhat modeled on The Beatles and also inspired by The Who. The band, originally consisting of Steve Banks on guitar and Ryan Clarke on bass, also features Mike Berry (aka Mike Moonie) on drums. Reviewer Mark Beaumont wrote:

Evil bastards, The Moonies. Coming from the same area of Liverpool as The Beatles they're the self-proclaimed new Messiahs of jangle pop, promising the one true path to a world of peace, purity, free love and Oasis. http://www.tri-tone.co.uk/themoonies/reviews.html
