The Joshua Tree

The Joshua Tree is an album by U2, released on March 9 1987 on Island Records (see 1987 in music). This album won Album of the Year award from the Grammy Awards of 1988. In 1997 The Joshua Tree was named the 19th greatest album of all time in a 'Music of the Millennium' poll conducted by HMV, Channel 4, The Guardian and Classic FM. In 1998 Q magazine readers placed it at number 23, while in 2003 the TV network VH1 placed it at number 15. This is widely considered one of the band's best albums, ranking with Achtung Baby and All That You Can't Leave Behind as their 3 masterpieces.
