The Illuminus OrganisationThe Illuminus are a non-funded active organisation brought together by knowledge of computing and their political views. They work on a "knowledge is power" principle, which allows action to be taken to aid their views to be made publicly and explicitly. The Illuminus Organisation fully condones hacking in the name of free speech, and as a group have explicitly expressed that they feel that everything the internet stands for is under threat from governments around the world. They state that the government censor and block access to any material on the Internet that they feel offends public morality, or is contrary to national interests. Illuminus are firmly of the belief that the internet is utilised by government agencies to gather information on individuals wholesale, to identify character traits and those who they consider a threat to national interests, and to facilitate the creation of a totalitarian governing body. Also, The Illuminus Organisation fully endorse unashamedly the activities of individuals who carry out acts of digital sabotage in the name of freedom from oppression. Illuminus do not hold themselves responsible for the activities of individuals who choose to carry out such acts, but condone 100% their reasons for doing so. The Organisation intend to produce applications to facilitate the bypassing of government filtering, and national firewalls, and fight for the rights and interests of those who are victims of oppression. Freedom of expression and the right to exercise such a right are worked towards by producing high level encryption applications and secure server systems. None of these applications have been released to the public domain as yet, Illuminus intend to release free open-source software within the next few years accordingly. Many believe that it is highly likely that these views and activities will lead Illuminus into direct conflict with the authorities, but The Illuminus Organisation stands by their beliefs and actions.
