The Hundred (Star Trek)The Hundred are a group of 100 Changelings from the Star Trek universe, seen primarily in the series . As infants, they were sent from the Changeling homeworld into the galaxy. It was hoped that these young Changelings would learn all they could about the species they encountered and would one day return to the Changeling population. To that end, The Hundred were programmed with a strong desire to return home, to reunite with their people and rejoin the Great Link. Odo was the first of The Hundred to return home. His journey was aided in large part by the existence and discovery of the Bajoran wormhole. Unfortunately for the Changelings, Odo's experiences among the Solids (the Changelings' term for humanoids) had given him a sense of justice and morality that conflicted with their own. Odo was horrified by the amount of death and dominance his people had caused as the leaders of the Dominion. For a time, Odo chose to remain with his friends at Deep Space Nine. Upon conclusion of the Dominion War, however, Odo agreed to rejoin his people to help cure them of the disease that had spread throughout the Great Link. Only one other member of The Hundred has so far been seen in the Star Trek universe. His name is Laas. He was sent out long before Odo, and had at least a century more knowledge and experience. His experiences throughout the universe had caused a disdain and mistrust of humanoids. While not sharing his beliefs, Odo did learn a great deal about himself and what he could do from Laas. After his encounter with Odo, Laas decided to continue his journey, and attempted to find the rest of The Hundred, in order to form a new Link.
