Tagline: Once you see it, you can never forget. Once it sees you, you can never escape. The Grudge officially opened in US theaters on Friday, October 22, 2004. As of 24 October 2004, The Grudge has made $40 million in the North American box office, far exceeding the expectations of Sony Pictures. The company revealed that a sequel is being considered, despite the generally poor reviews. It also stated that it cost "less than $10 million to produce Grudge."
