The Great Santini

The Great Santini is a 1979 film which tells the story of a highly successful Marine officer whose success in the military does not transfer into success with his family, especially his teenaged son. It stars Robert Duvall, Blythe Danner, Michael O'Keefe, Lisa Jane Persky, Julie Anne Haddock, Stan Shaw and David Keith. The movie was adapted by Lewis John Carlino from the novel by Pat Conroy. It was directed by Carlino. It was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Robert Duvall) and Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Michael O'Keefe).
