The George, Southwark
The
George and Dragon
as it was formerly known was established in the
medieval
period on
Borough High Street
in
Southwark
. It became one of the many famous coaching
Inns
in the days of
Charles Dickens
. It is the only one to survive in
Central London
and is a popular Inn for the local area. It is next door to
the White Hart
and the site of
the Tabard
It is owned by the
National Trust
and leased to a private company.
