The Dresser

The Dresser is a 1983 film which tells the story of an aging actor's personal assistant, who struggles to keep his charge's life together. It stars Albert Finney, Tom Courtenay and Edward Fox. The movie was adapted by Ronald Harwood from his play, and was directed by Peter Yates. It was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Tom Courtenay), Best Actor in a Leading Role (Albert Finney), Best Director, Best Picture and Best Writing, Screenplay Based on Material from Another Medium.
