The Drawing Center

The Drawing Center is a museum and educational center located in Lower Manhattan in New York City (USA). In was first established in 1977 to "provide opportunities for emerging and under-recognized artists; to demonstrate the significance and diversity of drawings throughout history; and to stimulate public dialogue on the issues of art and culture." Although it may currently have a somewhat low-profile in the world of New York City museums, the Drawing Center was recently selected as one of several cultural institutions to be located in the new World Trade Center.
