The Cooper Temple ClauseThe Cooper Temple Clause is a six piece rock band originating from Reading, UK. Their debut album See this through and leave was released to great critical acclaim in 2002 and their follow up Kick up the fire and let the flames break loose was released in 2003. The name is thought to derive from the Cowper-Temple clause, a provision introduced by William Cowper-Temple, 1st Baron Mount Temple into the second reading of the Education Bill of 1870, which provided that no catechism nor denominational teaching of any kind should be included in the religious instruction given in rate-aided schools.
