The Blue Dahlia

The Blue Dahlia (1946) is a film noir with an original screenplay by Raymond Chandler. It stars Alan Ladd, Veronica Lake, and William Bendix. This is the third teaming of Ladd and Lake. thumb Plot: Johnny (Ladd) returns home from the military with buddies Buzz (William Bendix) and George (Hugh Beaumont) to find his wife Helen kissing her new boyfriend Eddie Harwood, the owner of the Blue Dahlia nightclub. Helen admits her drunkenness caused their son's death. He pulls a gun on her but decides she's not worth it. Later, Helen is found dead and Johnny is the prime suspect.
