The Art of Worldly Wisdom is a book by Baltasar Gracin. It is a collection of maxims. Orculo manual y arte de prudencia was written in in 1637, and became popular throughout Europe. The book is a collection of 300 paragraphs on various topics giving advice and guidance on how to live fully, advance socially, and be a better person. It was translated by Joseph Jacobs (London and New York, Macmillan and co., 1892; Shambhala Publications unabridged edition, 1993, ISBN 0877739218; Shambhala Publications, 2004, ISBN 1590301412) and by Christopher Maurer (William Heinemann De Luxe Ed edition, 1993, ISBN 0434303127; Dover Publications, 2005, ISBN 0486440346)
