ThaliThali is an Indian meal with contents varying from state to state. The ingredients include rice, dal (unlimited usually) and small amounts of chapati, papad, pickle, a pulses, vegetables, curd (yoghurt), and a sweet dish to top it. Depending on the resturant or the region you are in, the Thali consists of delicacies native to that region. A Thali typically comes as a North Indian or a South Indian. The North Indian Thali starts you out with Pooris, Chappattis(Rotis), different vegetarian specialities(curries), usually a sweet, and other miscellaneous items. The South Indian Thali comes with applams papad, rice delicacies and similar items from the North Indian. Both of these usually come with "bottom-less" refills on all components of food, the idea is that one eats till he/she is fully satisfied. See also
