Terminal Island Freeway

The Terminal Island Freeway is a short freeway in far southern Los Angeles County, California. It is signed as California State Highway 103 along the entirety of its route. Unconnected to any other freeway, it runs from Sepulveda Boulevard in Long Beach to Ocean Boulevard in the Long Beach portion of Terminal Island, in San Pedro Bay. Along the way, it runs through the eastern portions of the Los Angeles district of Wilmington. The Terminal Island Freeway was intended by Caltrans to connect to the never-built Pacific Coast Freeway. However, despite being something of an orphan, it is still heavily used by trucks carrying cargo to and from the extraordinarily busy ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach.
