Termina

Termina is a fictional land from '. It is most commonly said to be an alternative dimension to the Kingdom of Hyrule'''.

Terminian Geography

Physical Geography

Termina is an unusual land. It's not a kingdom but more like a country, with its capital being the lively Clock Town, located in the Middle of the Country. The landscape is very different from one are to another. Immediatly to the West of Clock Town is the Great Bay, a small semi-abandoned beach. To the north of Clock Town are the Icelands, there lies the Highest point of Termina, Snowhead. South of Clock Town, the Southern Swamps are located, and to the east of Clock Town is the Lost Kingdom of Ikana....

Human Geography

Human activity in Termina is reflected on the huge town that is Clock Town, but there isn't any evidence of farming, so it may be possible that the food Human Terminians get comes from the sea. The humans in Termina only live in Clock Town and they do not expand with the exception of Romani and Cremia, who live outside the town. Gorons live on the icelands to the north, Zoras live on the sea to the west, and Dekus live in the swamps of the south. It doesn't seem like there is one race ruling over all, but each race is like a City-State, each with its own government system and traditions.

Races and Government

Humans

Identical to Hylians in Hyrule, yet totally different. Since in this alternate universe, the dominant race (being humanoid creatures) evolved with the same genetic traits, i.e. long ears and pale caucasian skin. Yet only the Hylians are blessed by the gods with magical skills, etc. The Terminians, as the collective race of those who inhabit Clock Town are called, are technologically more advanced than the Hylians, but have lost the sense of religion that is felt in Hyrule. The Terminians are friendly in nature.

Deku Scrubs

In Termina, the Deku Scrubs are far more advanced than Hylian Deku Scrubs, and they have a distinct culture and religion. They are run by monarchy, and their sacred temple is the Woodfall Temple, which only Deku Scrubs can access without magic....

Gorons

The Terminian Gorons are very different from the Hyrulian ones. The Hyrulian Gorons live on hot, volcanically active, Death Mountain, where the Terminian Gorons live on icelands but seem to prefer warmer climates. Terminian Gorons are more of a tribe "ruled" by a tribe elder.

Zoras

In Termina, Zoras are more open than Hylian Zoras, and they will leave their home to travel, which is easily shown in a very popular band of Zoras that like to play in Clock Town and other densely populated areas. They have also adapted to saltwater, which makes one wonder if they are a different species than the ones in Hyrule.

Ikana and its people

While it is unknown if they are another race, they are a civilization that died out due to a long history of blood that was located in eastern Termina. Their ruins are explored by Link in order to free the fourth giant in the evil guardian mask of Twinmold. Now a wasteland haunted by vengeful spirits, virtually the only living people there are the paranormal researcher, and his daughter. Tingle also stops by occasionally to peddle the usual map or two.

Mysterious Entities

There are a few other entities in Termina that used to be alive, but long since perished. An example of this is the mysterious ghost dancer, Kamaro, who dances every night at midnight on the large mushroom-like objects outside of Clock Town, waiting for somebody to pass on his legacy which he was never able to complete. Other than that his past is shrouded in mystery. Also there are the spirits of the king of Ikana and his royal guards, who have protected the secret of entry to the Stone Towers for centuries....

Legends

Festival of Time

a.k.a. Carnival of Time, this is a festival central in the Terminan calendar. On this day, people wear handmade masks for good luck and walk up the walkway from the festival tower to the Clock tower, where they sing an ancient song to the gods to wish for a good harvest and luck in the year to come. It is said that if a couple dedicate two masks to the sun and the moon and get married on this day, their marriage will be a prosperous and happy one. Told by Anju's Grandmother.

The 4 Guardians

Also told by Anju's Grandmother, this is about the history of Termina and the dissolution of the one race into five different races.
