The Tenshinhan Saga, is the seventh saga from fictional anime Dragon Ball. It occurs after the Fortuneteller Baba Saga and precedes the King Piccolo Saga. It shows us the events of the Twenty-Second World Martial Arts Tournament. PLOT: Goku trained for three years around the world. Now at the age of 15, Goku has developed his strenght to incredible levels. He has, however, one little problem. Muten Roshi's rival, Tsuru-senin, has his students Tenshinhan and Chaozu enter the tournment. The hatred between both schools caused Tenshinhan to breake one of Yamcha's legs in a violent preliminary combat. As one school tries to take down the other, the 22nd Budokai is filled with action. From Tenshinhan's killing technique to Chaozu's burning Dodon Wave; from Jackie Chun's surrender to the great finale between both schools champions and Tenshinhan's conversion to the good side, this is one of the most action filled sagas in the series.
STARRING:
  • Goku - After three years of training, Goku is back with his already incredible strenght improved. After having a look at Tenshinhan's strength, he swears to defeat the killer in the Budokai.
  • Tenshinhan - Tsuru-senin's best student, Tenshinhan is famous for his developed Krishna (the third eye), his love for pride and victory, and extreme agressiveness. Together with his master and with his best friend Chaozu, Tenshinhan wants to show Muten Roshi's school that nobody should dare to challenge him.
  • Yamcha - After training under Muten Roshi for three years, Yamcha once again enters the Tournament. Although he makes it through the preliminaries he loses to Tenshinhan in the first round who breaks his leg.
  • Chaozu - Tenshinhan's best friend and shortest fighter in the Dragonball Universe, Chaozu is the runner-up in the Top Ten Tsuru-senin students. The Dodon Wave is his particular weapon, as he proves it in his fight with Kuririn. Chaozu's only flaw is his dumbness.
  • Kuririn - Goku's bald best friend enters the tournment for the second time, and defeats Chaozu with luck. He is, however, defeated by Goku in the semifinals after he tries to grab Goku's tail, without knowing it was no longer a weakness to him.
  • Jackie Chun - Again, Muten Roshi enters the tournement to make sure his students don't win. He easily disposes of Wolf Man in the quarters, but surrenders agaisnt Tenshin, saying he has to give place to the next generation of fighters.
  • TSURU-SENIN - Eternal rival of Muten Roshi and arrogant old man, he trained his pupils with care and evil. He is thrown away by Muten Roshi and is only seen again briefly in the Piccolo Junior Saga.
  • SECONDARY CHARACTERS
  • KING CHAPA - many times winner of the tournment, Chapa challenges Goku, calling him "a weak, little boy". King Chapa is humilliated by Goku.
  • POMPET - He is also considered a great champion, like Mr. Satan from the original Dragonball. He is defeated by Goku with only three quick punches.
  • WOLF MAN - He wants revenge on Jackie Chun because he destroyed the moon, the only thing he had that could turn him back into a man. Jackie Chun uses Kuririn's head as a replacement moon, and Wolf Man quits the combat.
