Telstra Internet

Telstra Internet is Telstra's national internet backbone in Australia. Telstra acquired the AARnet national backbone in 1995 and renamed it to Telstra Internet. Telstra sells direct (business-grade) connections to the backbone under the Telstra Internet Direct name, and consumer Dialup, ADSL, Cable Modem and Satellite connections under the BigPond brand name. Telstra Internet buys long-haul capcity and international transit from REACH, a bankrupt undersea cable/internet backbone joint venture between Telstra and Pacific Century Cyberworks (PCCW).
