Tellico River

The Tellico River is a short river located in the westernmost mountains of North Carolina, where it rises, but primarily in Monroe County, Tennessee. It is a major tributary of the Little Tennessee River and the namesake of Tellico Lake, which empounds its mouth and the last several miles of its course. Upstream from the lake, above the town of Tellico Plains, it is a premier trout stream. Major tributaries include the Bald River and the North River. It rises near the Tennessee-North Carolina state line, in the Cherokee National Forest.
