Tel Hai

Tel Hai is a settlement in Galilee. In 1919, the British mandate of Palestine and the French mandate of Syria were disputing the border between Eretz Israel and Syria, and the British had relinquished the northern section of the upper Galilee containing Tel Hai, Metullah, Hamrah, and Kfar Giladi to the French jurisdiction. Tel Hai became famous in March 1920 after the Arab attack in which Joseph Trumpeldor and his seven comrades were killed.
