Teen Beat

Teen Beat is an American magazine that is geared towards teenager readers. First published in 1974, the magazine was preceded by sister publications 16, published in 1956, and Tiger Beat, which was first published in 1965. Teen Beat magazine is produced by Primedia. Over the past thirty years, the magazine has had multiple teen idols on its cover, including John Travolta, David Cassidy, Menudo, Michael J. Fox, the Coreys (Feldman and Haim), Molly Ringwald, Tom Cruise, New Kids on The Block, Jonathan Taylor Thomas, Jonathan Brandis, and, more recently, Hanson, Ricky Martin, Leonardo DiCaprio, The Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, Hilary Duff and Lindsay Lohan, among many others. After publishing up to twelve magazines each month, Primedia decided, in 2001, to reduce its number of publications to only four magazines per month, deciding to keep 16, Tiger Beat, Teen Beat and BOP. Teen Beat is also a sister publication of Cosmopolitan.
