Ted Joans

Ted Joans (July 4, 1928 - April 25, 2003), born Theodore Jones, was an American painter, trumpeter and a jazz poet. Joans invented the outagraph, which is a surrealist photographic method in which the subject, what the photograph is "of," has been cut out.
