Tavil

Tavil is usually the accompaniment to Nadhaswaram. It is a south Indian double headed barrel-shaped percussion instrument with two skins covered around two large hemp hoops. The pitch can be changed by adjusting the skin. The left and right sides are played with stick and hands respectively.
