Tattershall

Tattershall is a village in Lincolnshire, England. Located in a large rural area, it's remarkably full of historical interest. It has the country's largest and oldest one-handed clock, and a 13th century stone enclosed fortress using mot and bailey defences, called Tattershall Castle. It is close to Newark, Boston and New York, where many of the first emigrants to the USA came from. The parish of Tattershall stands shoulder to Coningsby, with no gap. There is a phrase in Lincolnshire, 'out in the sticks', meaning in a remote area. Tattershall is indeed, in local parlance 'out in the sticks'!
