Tashi Namgyal

Sir Tashi Namgyal was the 11th ruler of the feudal Sikkimese dynasty. Born in Tibet and crowned by the Dalai Lama, he was a strong advocate for of closer links with Tibet. During his life, he repeatedly stated that Sikkim should be integrated with Tibet. His death drew widespread suspicion in the world. Many believe that he was assassinated by the agents of the Indian government.
