Tank (Matrix Character)

Tank is the name of a fictional character (played by Marcus Chong) in the science fiction film, The Matrix. In the movie, on board the Nebuchadnezzar, Tank plays the operator, whose job is to send crew members in and out of the matrix, and generally maintain the ship. Both Tank and his older brother Dozer are said to have been born in the Real World, in Zion. Thus, Tank doesn't have the 'holes' on his body that the other character have which allow them to connect to The Matrix. The character of "Tank" from The Matrix did not return, reportedly due to actor Marcus Chong's salary demands and conflicts with the Wachowski brothers. The character's role of ship pilot is taken over by newcomer Link, Tank's brother-in-law. Dozer is killed by Cypher after killing Switch and Apoc while they still remained in the Matrix. Tank revenges his death by killing Cypher.
