Tame (Airline)Tame is a passenger airline from Ecuador. History Tame was formed in 1962, to secure passenger service to places which other airlines wouldn't normally serve. Tame was the airline leg of Ecuador's Air Force. At first, the airline used DC-3, DC-6, Lockheed Electra and Avro equipment. But with the airline's growth into more domestic destinations, larger, faster jet equipment was needed. Because of this, Boeing 727's were acquired. In 1992, the airline's first international service, to Cali, was inaugurated from Tulpan. During much of the 1990s and early 2000s, however, the airline suffered of questionable safety standards, having had multiple fatal accidents through those periods. Also, the airline has had to face stiff competition from Ecuatoriana de Aviacion. Presently headed by coronel Jorge Cabezas, the airline will acquire Airbus A320 equipment in 2003, to reniew their fleet. Fleet - Boeing 727
