Talamasca (Group)Talamasca is a Goa trance project based in Paris, France. The core of the Group consists of Cedric Dassuile (DJ Lestat) and Steve Eli. DJ Lestat, the main driving force of the project, promotes Talamasca music on parties on his trips as a DJ all around the world. He worked as a proffesional pianist for over 13 years and started his career as DJ in 1992. In 1995/96 he was resident DJ in a prestigious Rex club in Paris. In that same time he was influenced by trance music that he played during parties and wanted to create his own. In 1996 he met the other coofounders Steve Eli and Xavier de Galloy that were at that time house producers and had their own music studio. Together they decided to cooperate on a trance project and founded Talamasca. Talamasca in Spanish means "animal mask" and it is also name of the secret cast that was described in books of Anne Rice. DJ Lestat read these books and decided to call the group with this name (he also called himself Lestat, which was the name of the main character of the book Interview with the Vampire). As mentioned above, Lestat is very energetic, traveles all around the world and has many friends amongst other Psy-trance artists. He often cooperates with many of them in many projects. Lestat produced many successfull tracks with artists like Nomad, Oforia, Space Cat, and Xerox. The group also participated in foundation of famous psychedelic trance Label 3D Vision together with Christof Drouillet, Dj Mael and Javier Galloy. Recently Dj Lestat started up his own label called Mind Control. One of the Talamasca's most recent albums was Zodiac which was released in 2003 and gained a lot of popularity among psychedelic trance fans. The album consisted of 12 tracks, each of them named after a different Zodiac sign. Discography Singles Albums See also External Links - Brain Machines - Interview with Dj Lestat on BrainMachines.com
