Take Ionescu

Take Ionescu (13 October 18582 June 1922) was a Romanian diplomat and politician. Born in Ploieşti, he studied law in Paris and was elected to the Parliament of Romania in 1883. He founded the Conservative Democratic Party (Partidul Conservator-Democrat, PCD) in 1908. He represented Romania at the Peace Conference that followed the Second Balkan War in 1913. He served as the Foreign Minister of Romania between 1917 and 1918, favouring Romania's entry into World War I against Germany, and again from 1920 to 1922. At the end of the war, he was the head Romanian National Committee at the Paris Peace Conference. He was also Prime Minister of Romania for one month, from 18 December 1921 until 19 January 1922.
