Swiss Mythology

Swiss mythology before Christianity, was a mix of Celtic and Germanic. Artio, a Celtic goddess of wildlife, is specifically known from Switzerland.
  • Jack o' the bowl : is a house spirit of Switzerland.
  • Dragons : were also believed to be flying among the Alps.
  • Dragonet : "little dragons" tales originated in Switzerland during the Middle Ages. (This is not the dragonet fish species.)
  • Swiss Dwarfs give favorite humans magic cheese.
