Swiss Cottage
was a
tube station
in
London
. It was opened as the terminus of its
Metropolitan Line
branch. Only later the line has been extended further north (to
Watford
,
Aylesbury
,
Chesham
and
Uxbridge
As the
Bakerloo Line
opened a station of the same name on its northern extension (which is now the northern part of the
Jubilee Line
) in
1939
the Metropolitan station had to close.
