According to the Pokdex, this Pokmon "very conscientious about the upkeep of its glossy wings" and will spend long whiles cleaning them often. It is also said to fly very graciously. It can locate its prey from incredible heights, diving "at a steep angle as soon as it spots its prey." Name Origin Its name is derived from the words swallow and swell, which probably refers to its apparently swollen chest. Anime Appearance In the anime episode "Beginning Challenge! Sky Match: Pokringer!?!" (broadcasted in Japan as recently as June 10th, 2004 and therefore has not yet been translated into English) Ash's Taillow evolves into Swellow. Swellow aparently will fulfil the same duties as Pidgeotto and Noctowl (Ash's Stage 1 Flying-types before Swellow).
