Swedish Fish

Swedish fish is a type of quasi-gummi candy. It is in the shape of a fish, and can be uniformly red, or in a variety of colors and fruit flavors. Reports differ on whether it was originally created by the Malaco or Jaret company. Black Swedish fish, with a salmiak flavour, are also available on the European market. Carnauba wax, also used by automobile enthusiasts, is what gives them their unique texture. A similar candy is Swedish berries, which are identical in makeup, but in the shape of berries rather than fish.
