Swagat ThoratSwagat Thorat is a director with the difference of the theatre & wildlife films from India. Keeping in mind the social attributes, he make every effort to bring forward genius artists, highly talented but have never been given a chance to prove their skills. In order to celebrate the Golden Jubilee Year of Indias Independence; he produced & directed the play "Swatantryachi Yashogatha" performed by 88 blind artists from 2 blind schools of Pune, which created a world record and were noted in the "Guinness Book" of world records and the Limca Book of records. He then came up with the play "Teen Paishacha Tamasha" with 44 blind artists, which is an adaptation of Bertolt Brecht's "Three Penny Opera" by well-known celebrated humorist, dramatist P.L. Deshpande. This play has been staged in Pune, Nagar, Aurangabad, Nashik, Khopoli, Virar and Mumbai with the tremendous response from keen audiences who appreciated his every effort. Apart from the above he also came up with a 3-day Festival of political plays viz Pakhapaat, Rajdand and Pujya Guruji written by Prof. Dilip Jagtap and directed by him. With the collaboration of Seva Prabhodini a Non Government Organization from India, he have recently staged 'Tritriya Ratna' written by Mahatma Jyotirao Phule in 1855 AD, which highlights social evils in the society like illiteracy and superstition and exploitation by the upper caste society due to the same. It casts the most ruthless and inhuman behavior towards the lower caste religion and how their ignorance leads them to a never ending darkened path.
