Susan Tyrrell

Susan Tyrrell (born March 18, 1945 in San Francisco, California, USA) is an American actress. Her best known role is as Oma in Fat City, for which she was nominated for an Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress in 1972. Her movie debut was in the film Shoot Out (1971). In early 2000, she suffered the loss of both legs as a result of blood clots due to the rare blood disease essential thrombocythemia. She is sometime credited as Susan Tyrell.
