Supraoptic Nucleus

In biology, the supraoptic nucleus is a nucleus of magnocellular neurosecretory cells in the hypothalamus, their axons extend into posterior pituitary. The cell bodies produce vasopressin which is transported down the axons and released in the posterior pituitary.
