Supermultiplet
In
theoretical physics
, a
supermultiplet
is formally a
group representation
of a
supersymmetry
algebra. It is usually thought of as a union of all polarizations of a particle and its
superpartner
(or superpartners, if there are many). Depending on the details how the
supercharges
act, several types of supermultiplets are distinguished, e.g.
vector multiplets
,
chiral multiplets
(in N=1 supersymmetry),
hypermultiplets
(in N=2 supersymmetry) or
tensor multiplets
and
gravitational multiplets
.
