Geography Sunbright is located at 36°14'51" North, 84°40'22" West (36.247369, -84.672692). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 9.8 km² (3.8 mi²). 9.8 km² (3.8 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 577 people, 229 households, and 158 families residing in the city. The population density is 58.6/km² (151.8/mi²). There are 264 housing units at an average density of 26.8/km² (69.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 98.44% White, 0.00% African American, 0.17% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.87% from other races, and 0.52% from two or more races. 0.87% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 229 households out of which 33.6% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.7% are married couples living together, 11.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 30.6% are non-families. 25.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.52 and the average family size is 3.06.
