Sumalaku

Sumalaku was a palace maid during the reign of Emperor Shun Zhi. She was the most trusted servant of Grand Dowager Empress Xiao Zhuang-ren. She was called Ge Ge by this old lady, a title reserved for only imperial princesses. Sumalagu taught Emperor Kang Xi his Manchu while he was under her care. Later on she was given the responsibility of looking after his son Prince Yin Tao. She passed away in 1705. Sumalaku
