Studio Musician

A studio musician is a professional musician who is hired on a freelance basis by a performer, group, advertising jingle agency, film music director, or for any other reason, yet is not otherwise affiliated with these artists or products. These players work exclusively inside a studio environment, sometimes for a single studio. A session musician, however, may perform at concerts or in any other performance scenario.
