Stuart Murdoch

Stuart Murdoch, a former boxer, is the lead singer and songwriter for Scottish twee pop octet Belle & Sebastian.
Stuart Murdoch is also the name of the former manager of the Milton Keynes Dons (formerly Wimbledon F.C.), a former goalkeeping coach fired November 8,2004 after compiling one of the worst won-lost records in the history of the Football League. He had taken over in May 2002 after the dismissal of Terry Burton, and in his first season in charge (2002-03) had guided Wimbledon to 10th in Division One despite having huge debts and the Football League's third worst average attendance. Murdoch remained in charge at Wimbledon throughout the disastrous 2003-04 season during which the club almost went out of business. It was saved by a takeover in March 2004 but the change of hands came too late to save the club from relegation from Division One. In the close season, Wimbledon F.C was renamed Milton Keynes Dons (the club having previously relocated to Milton Keynes) but the name change did nothing to change the club's on-the-field fortunes. Murdoch was sacked on 8th November 2004 with Milton Keynes second from bottom in the Coca Cola League One. He was replaced by Danny Wilson, former manager of Barnsley, Sheffield Wednesday and Bristol City.
