Striptease (Movie)

Striptease is a 1996 movie starring Demi Moore, Burt Reynolds, and Ving Rhames. The film was directed by Andrew Bergman. The film revolves around Erin Grant (Demi Moore), a mother who loses custody of her child. She needs money to appeal the verdict, so she takes on a job at the Eager Beaver, a local strip club. Congressman David Dilbeck (Burt Reynolds) attends the club in disguise one night, becomes fond of Grant, and attacks another member of the audience. A spectator recognizes Dilbeck and offers to get her the money she needs by blackmailing Dilbeck. Things do not go according to plan... It is based on a book by popular Florida crime author Carl Hiaasen. This film showcased Demi Moore's breast augmentation surgery. The film won six Golden Raspberries (Worst Actress, Worst Director, Worst Original Song, Worst Picture, Worst Screen Couple, and Worst Screenplay). It featured a few real life strippers including Pandora Peaks. One of the strippers is called "Ariel Sharon" a possible play on Ariel Sharon's name. Ving Rhames plays a bouncer named Shad.
