Stourport-on-severn

Stourport-on-Severn, often shortened to Stourport, is a town in Worcestershire, England, with a population of 19,713 (2001 Census). It is part of the Wyre Forest district. Stourport stands at the junction of the River Severn and the River Stour. The town owes its existence to the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal, which joined the Severn here in 1772. The local football team is Stourport Swifts F.C..
