Stockwell Tube StationStockwell tube station is a London Underground station in Stockwell. It is on the Victoria Line between Vauxhall and Brixton, and the Northern Line between Clapham North, and Oval. It is in Travelcard Zone 2. The Victoria Line platforms opened on July 23, 1971. It is one of eight London Underground stations which has a deep-level air-raid shelter underneath it. Stockwell station opened on December 18, 1890, as the most southerly station on the City & South London Railway -- London's first deep level tube railway. The tube trains ran north from Stockwell as far as King William Street, just across the river from today's London Bridge tube station Stockwell can be found both on the Victoria line and the Northern line which runs through central London. The bus numbers:2,88,155,255,322,345 and the 355 run through Stockwell, most of them stopping by the undergound station.
